THE PRODUCT

Q: Why does CrC have such a Long-Life?

A: Look at the road outside. The hard stone pieces are held in place by a soft tar matrix. It lasts for years. Our CrC (with MaxCS™) works on the same principal. Chromium at 24% is “alloyed” to Carbon at 4% forming Carbides (CrC). These have a hardness of 1800 V.P.N. (very hard!) and are held in place by an iron (steel) matrix (”glue”).

Now you have our LONG-LIFE CrC liners!

Recent Developments

New products have been launched:

• Rio-Carb ceramic tiles.  For to impact areas and noise control.  Ceramic "thimbles" mounted in hard rubber, make a good shock-absorber. <See Ceramic Liners>
   
• Rio-Carb "checker" plate.  Cladded with a checker pattern, leaving 60% open area for "dead-box" effect.  For earthmoving equipment. <See Checker Plates>
   
• Rio-Carb "CrC Compatible" welding electrodes.  Same CrC alloy as the "Long-life" wearplates. <See Welding Electrodes>
